Management Team

Simon Butler: Before Purestone TFM, Simon founded and developed Spot Communications Ltd., a full service marketing agency. Among the clients (and brands) Spot works with are such well known names as Nestle Purina (Felix, Bonio, Winalot), Philips (Philishave), Eidos (Tomb Raider, Championship Manager), Ubisoft (Splinter Cell, Rayman) as well as Epson, Adobe, LEC among many others.

Prior to that he was Managing Director of Interactive Entertainment UK for BMG Entertainment, one of the largest record companies in the world. He was responsible for starting the division, taking responsibility for investment, NPD, recruitment, sales and overall profitability.

Within two years he had built it to a £25million turnover. He sat on the BMG Investment Board and was Chairman of the BMG team which won the Institute of Directors UK Strategic Challenge 1999. While at BMG he launched many successful products including Grand Theft Auto, Pandemonium, You Don’t Know Jack as well as interactive CD music products for David Bowie, Take That, Kylie Minogue and The Eurythmics.

Before joining BMG, Butler was European Marketing Director at MicroProse Inc., serving as a part of the management team which grew MicroProse from £1m to £60m in 3 years, developing such brands as Civilization, the Tycoon series (Railroad, Transport, Rollercoaster), UFO, Star Trek and Top Gun.

James Smee: Following university, where James gained a degree in Business Studies & Marketing, he joined Sony UK, working in developing their Sales and Marketing support team. Following this he joined the marketing department of Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 and Times Tech Track winner, Prime Business Solutions, a rapidly expanding IT systems integrator.

During his time at Prime, James went on to head up Prime’s U.K marketing operation, driving forward marketing initiatives that helped the business rapidly expand from £7million to £32million inside 3 years and to a final acquisition by the 2e2 Group.

Trevor Rolls (Non-Exec): Trevor provides a wealth of commercial experience to Purestone in his role as non-executive director.  Founder of leading IT solutions provider, Prime Business Solutions. Providing commercial leadership, Trevor led Prime through an exponential growth, resulting in Sunday Times Fast Track awards in 2002, 2003 and 2004, plus recognition as Cisco Systems ‘European, Middle East and Africa Partner of the Year’. Having taken Prime to a turnover of £32m, Trevor successfully negotiated the acquisition of Prime to a conclusion when it was acquired for £28 million by the 2e2 Group in 2004.

Operations, Fulfillment & Account Management Team

Purestone's designated operations and account management team are often described as the engine room behind Purestone. The team is made up of a mixture of key account managers, project and campaign co-ordinators and web design/developers.
